7.1 GT3 Market Prices
 

Hey guys, posting this because I’m curious about what you all think “fair” market value is for a 07’ 7.1 gt3 with about 30k miles on it. Pretty much stock car with 0 overrevs on the DME and about 890 engine hours.

This is purely subjective and I understand that a thing is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. But since I’m new and looking to get my first porsche, I thought this would be helpful.

As a second question: based on what ever value you give the above car, what do you think these things will be worth in 3-5 years? It seems like market is slowing down but sellers are not willing to come down all that much.

I can't comment on current value, but I wouldn't bet on seeing much of a return on investment.

1. There are simply too many of them.
2. It's early in the game. 10 to 20 years from now may be different to a collector looking for a museum piece. However, what would you do, keep it covered in a garage and barely drive it? And for what?

You can make far better rates of return on careful stock purchases or a solid mutual fund. Lastly, in 20 years gas will be so expensive and many cities will be curbing internal combustion engines, that and finding places to drive it will be both costly and difficult. Welcome to the brave new world.

That being said, it should depreciate less than other models. If, like me, you are looking for a car to keep long-term, the price isn't such a big deal. Buy it and drive as much as you can.

Based on the above criteria you are looking at 80-90k in terms of value.

3-5 years out I think you can count on it holding its value but not doing much in the way of gaining value.

To add some context I’m not looking for a car as an investment asset. I’m looking for a car to admire and drive and enjoy.

That said, I don’t want to overpay or get into a car that isn’t cheap and find out in 5 years that, if I want to move onto something else, I can recoup a good amount of my money back (i.e. not take a 50% loss).

All of that said, it’s likely I’ll keep the car for a while. I understand that if treated properly and maintained these 7.1 gt3 go 100k miles plus.... is that accurate?

Buy it and enjoy the piss out of it!

I would say the car is worth $80-90k and I would plan on it being worth $65-75k in 3-5 years. At 30k miles, it's not a collector, so drive it.

A 40k example recently sold for 82k. And it took quite a while to sell. I would say you are looking at 80-85k. Definitely not 90k anymore. I've seen several less than 30k miles examples sit for months and months with an asking price of 90k.

Floating north and south of $100k depending on the example.

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking of also. Several 20-40k examples with asking between $92-$100 is too high imo.

So it sounds like the group consensus (so far) is about $85k on average.

85k is about average. I'm selling mine for 80k

Your car is really nice and super clean but it's far from unmodified which can detract value from some buyers. If you like the parts then 80 is a steal.

After 3-5 years of ownership you will not want to sell it :thumbsup:
