No, those motors where replaced while under warranty. The cores I would assume get refurbished.

I saw that car on ebay as well... I was more into who performed the 4.0L bore.. If it weren't a reputable shop, then I would be super leary.
Looks like a car that could be a fun dedicated track car.

Where is there any indication that the car has a 4.0 engine?

The original Ceramic Composite Brakes – PCCB parts and Seats come with the car purchase if you want them. The engine that was installed on 3/1/12 was purchased brand new at Park Place Porsche, then bored to a 4.0L. It also has a 3M Clear Shield on the hood and fenders

I am admittedly no GT3 expert, but I dropped by and drove it, as I was there to look at a 997 C4S for a friend (nice build, BTW). It pulls well and feels taut and firm. I would want to see the DME and see where the values fell time-wise.

I didn't ask too many questions but this is owned a guy they know pretty well and have sold cars for previously, so more info should be available should one need it! I looked at the huge stack of paperwork, and I saw the 3.6L upgrade, but nothing about the motor being bored out anywhere, nor was it mentioned. That info is no longer listed on their website, so perhaps might have been a miscommunication between seller and consignor.

It was surprisingly comfortable for having buckets and race suspension.
