Thank you my friend! These are absolutely going into my 'lifetime highlight reel' as I suspect not too many guys embark upon this type of mission. I had the time of my life!

FWIW: you have GT2RS front lip on your car. Once I measured the difference side by side and the GT2RS gives you about 0.5”+ of better ground clearance than GT2 lip.

Dang it. Now I want a 7-2. Totally agree that a 2 and a 3 in the same garage (of any generation, frankly) just can't be beat both for the "cool" factor and the way they compliment each other in such different ways. Huge props to you for pulling the trigger. Note to self: need to sell the lambo now (but just can't bring myself to do it).

Just want to say congrats on the GT2 and pushing forward with the purchase! It is always extra effort to import/export but clearly it was well worth it.

I am also happy to hear you were prepared and stuck to your guns about the 2.5% duty.

What a great adventure full of memories. As they say on RL, enjoy in good health.

How did you identify it as a GT2RS piece? The reason I ask is because I have seen one other GT2 since buying mine and didn't notice the lip being different. I asked the guy about the 2RS lip and he mentioned it was in fact different and that he planned to get one (keep in mind he did not see my car but I did see his car). What gave the lip away? Thanks!

Good morning Steve! I own both cars and they are physically/visually different but transferable. You see them swapped. The RS gives a little more clearance in the center b

Thanks buddy, mine is pretty worn out but it's good to know it's an RS piece as the clearance isn't so good (and no nose lift on the GT2). I appreciate it!

You have the RS lip. I prefer it. The redesign indicates to me that Porsche reduced the front end downforce a touch at the leading edge. The only downside to the RS lip is the ridiculous cost compared to the standard GT2 lip,

No nose lift is good. One less subsystem to fail.

Here’s the stock lip for comparison.

I can see the differences now, thanks for the comparison view Nick!

I'm still very much pinching myself that this GT2 is now mine. I'm preparing documentation to send it in to Excellence Magazine for their Readers Sales Reports section. That would be pretty cool if they choose to publish it in their magazine!

I've since obtained the new WA state plates and the new WA state title just arrived in yesterday's mail, so no more sweating about any issues about it coming back to the USA from a completely legal point of view. I haven't been able to drive the car much due to a combination of busy schedule and ill-timed weather but hope to get it out this Memorial Day weekend. I'd like to adjust the Numeric Racing shifter to the 'middle' setting as I feel it must be on the shortest throw possible...will know more after disassembling the center console.

Happy Memorial Day to all of my RL friends and families!

Awesome. My beast just arrived today and I took it for a nice 150 round trip to Limerock. What a car, can only imagine what your trip was like.

That looks so glorious my friend...congratulations! Is yours a 'standard' black, meaning without metallic? I look forward to hearing about your impressions too, and she really looks like a gem.

*EDIT* Is that black at all or a dark blue?

There isn't enough 997 GT2 content on this site! I hope we can get a bit more going.
