Dundon headers? Cobb?

Had a 991.1 GT3RS with dundon headers and felt the improvement. I haven't seen many 997 owners with dundon header posts. Wondering who has them and their thoughts? Also dundon+cobb combo

thanks

I had the Dundon race headers on my 997.2 for a little while. The 997 engine is not nearly as clean as 991, so the cat-less design was brutal for me (the Whole house would smell of gasoline for a day or so after driving); but that is not a Dundon issue, just the nature of forgoing cats. Fit and finish was great and sound was great, but far too loud for our local tracks (I would guess 113DB+). Improvement in power and delivery was definitely noticeable. Jamie was great to deal with as well.

FWIW Dundon also makes a catted version.

They do in theory, but I would inquire with Jamie about availability first :)

I think they are more available now than a year ago.

I have Dundon catted setup. I like it, no smell issues for me, though my car has a "few" other mods (4.0 engine...) so hard to give you a perspective on power increase from them. I will note that their design is markedly different than the geometry of a lot of other systems on the market and I think quite close to a full race setup from that standpoint. It is a PITA to get it perfectly installed/aligned but all the Goldcrest guys were giving the design a thumbs up.

Maybe Jamie can chime in and elaborate on power differences between catted and non catted. I plan to track a decent amount so no catted likely will suit me best.

He can also sell you a test pipe that bolts right in, so my setup can flip to catless for the price of the test pipe if needed.

My engine destroyed the set of GMG headers / cats I had on there previously (some decent track time) so time will tell how long these last.

Hapy to help (sometimes it’s better to email... ;) )

Catted and Race are similar gains on the
997.1 GT3 race is about 20whp, catted is about 18-20
997.2GT3 race is about 20-22whp catted is about 20whp
997.2RS race is about 25-28whp, catted is about 22-25whp
torque gains are all about the same up to peak torque.

important things are to ensure the airbox is pulling in cold outside air, and to go after the next inefficiencies, airbox, intake manifold are big ones.

intake runners are coming out end of the quarter or so for the 997 GT3’s...

Do the 997.1 catted headers fit onto other aftermarket exhausts ? Aka sharkwerks track exhaust with side muffler delete ?

Intake runners..... Most excellent

The Dundon catted and non catted headers will fit the oem center, dundons center, and any center delete thats made to replace the oem center.

However, with the Dundons you lose the side mufflers since their exhaust extends past where the side mufflers were.

A center delete matched with Dundons headers will be LOUD and drone.

So even this sharkwerks that replaces the oem centre would fit ?!

Mine is a side muffler delete system not this centre muffler delete.

Thanks for the help guys

No, that one wouldnt fit. The standard center muffler delete would though.

Dont do it though, it will be loud and drone when mixed with long tubes.
