Centerlock cap o-rings
Hello,
I decided to get new o-rings for my center caps. One of them seems to be letting more moisture in, so I figured I'd get all 4-I cleaned everything, used gun cleaner on the center pin then lightly coated with the optimol center lock grease to prevent corrosion.
O-rings are not easy to find, cheapest about $6, most at about $10(!) The crazy thing is shipping is about $16, what you'd expect to pay to ship[ a starter or something heavy Maybe because it needs to be shipped from Germany? I'll check the dealer down the street and see if it's available, otherwise I'll try Sunset-$40 for o-rings is crazy

I guess it must be a high temperature o-ring 💥
ordered it at the dealer close by, ships in from Atlanta
I read on another forum about a guy that washed his car and went to the track- moisture accumulated behind the cap, and when the brakes got hot the caps popped out because of the steam/pressure 🤪

I tried to find alternate high temp o rings that were cheaper, they all mismatched one way or another. Ended up just accepting that some things will be more costly than they should be and bought a few.

Just received the new o-ring. The new one is grey instead of black, and after lightly coating with grease(as per service manual)it took quite a bit of force to snap in place.
The old one was slightly deformed probably due to heat and perhaps no grease when it was new. The other 3 don't seem to be leaking but I guess I'll order 3 more.
