They were all very short lived, the range 2-4 over-revs are concerning. However, I wouldn't be too concerned with them because they happened so long ago; the engine has logged 300+ hours since those over-revs occurred.

Utilizing 8400 rev limit:
443 in range 1= 1.05 seconds
156 in range 2= .37 seconds* (300+ hours ago)
114 in range 3= .27 seconds* (300+ hours ago)
102 in range 4= .24 seconds* (300+ hours ago)

*Approximation because we're not sure what the engine speed was when this occurred. Nevertheless, it'll give you an idea.

Rev range 1: 8,400 -1 ... to 9,200 -1
⇒ Maximum permitted engine speed exceeded; engine damage possible.
Rev range 2: 9,200 -1 ... to 9,400 -1
⇒ Maximum permitted engine speed exceeded; engine damage possible.
Rev range 3: 9,400 -1 ... to 9,600 -1
⇒ Maximum permitted engine speed exceeded; engine damage possible.
Rev range 4: 9,600 -1 ... to 10,000 -1
⇒ Maximum permitted engine speed clearly exceeded; engine damage probable.
Rev range 5: 10,000 -1 ... to 11,000 -1
⇒ Maximum permitted engine speed very clearly exceeded; engine damage very probable.
Rev range 6: over 11,000 -1
⇒ Engine damage has generally occurred.

I'd love to know how many people, if any, bought a car with stage 4 over revs and had the engine detonate during their ownership. Over revs certainly tell a story with regards to a car's history, but I'm starting to feel like the importance of a clean DME is largely overstated. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Overared yes

many cars had two ECU when tracked in 2010-11...so u could tune it and hide over rev

some cars had them erased, no impossible

my car on the other hand has a lot, it’s beat. And drives fine

It seems like people are using it as a baseline to negotiate on price...
I had not heard of it 3-4 years ago..

Again, I wouldn't be too concerned if any with these numbers. If, and it's a huge if, I'll work with you (read: give you a great deal on a rebuild or on an upgrade to one of our delicious 4.15L build outs).
