Interesting for sure...they are great cars...maybe just summer ending sell off is driving pricing down a bit.

Theres not much inventory though not like 3 years ago. I remember a gray car in california still listed at this time. Thats the only car left from 3 years. There has to be a reason for that not selling.

Example: 2010/11 (8 year old car) with a 163K msrp 997 RS w/PCCB are still selling above their MSRP's by 10-20K depending on condition, PTS cars could fetch 40K above their msrp still. Most .1 991RS are now getting very close to their msrp's after 2 years and 2018 new GT3's can be found at MSRP if you look hard enough. There is your proof of the staying power of the 997RS.

Thats why asking prices for a similar mile car for a 997 and 991 are almost thesame. But people dont realize, back in the 2010/11, msrp for most non-pts cars are only $160-170.
Crazy isnt it but thats how the market is right now.
A 991 RS with no accident with 6k miles asking $194.
Make you own conclusion but it will just go down further with the 997 at the ultimate moderm RS to collect.
Drive it, track it, it doesnt matter.
Porsche history is on our side.

And even if you bought it at its peak 3 years ago, you are now back to you where you started and will stay that way till another 3 years.
Keep it IMO. They can never build another engaging RS like the 997 because the good ol boys whi made these machines are all retired.

I love it when these types of threads re-remind of why I sold my 991 GT3 and bought my 997 RS in the first place. I have had some weak moments along the way and considered the new 991 RS, but the longer I have this car the more I appreciate it the more I can’t see ever parting with it. It’s cool how when you get deeper into this brand the want for older cars grows. I spent most of tonite watching videos of various old RSR’s. It was like the Wild West back then. Add displacement, add turbos, increase track, add more tire, add more boost, add wing, add bodywork! Mechanical monsters. And to think 997’s are raw...

I feel like the 997 GT3s are the last real gems Porsche made. From the looks/styling(especially the nose)to the Mezger engine, they are indeed precious. And everyone is entitled to my opinion

Agreed. Keeping mine forever. I will, however, add a 991RS to track in the coming months. Best of both worlds if you ask me.
