Default Front wheel bearing life?

Hi all,

I think I heard the dreaded wirling noise and wondered what the expectancy is on front wheel bearings? Any experience and should I replace the carriers as well?

Are you driving a 997.1 GT3? With the 997.2 they recommend carriers be changed every second hub change so unless you have previously had hubs/bearings off the car you shouldn't need to replace carriers. Front carriers are $$$ so you won't want to replace unnecessarily...

Hard to comment on bearing life, depends on use but if you track often and are hearing noise, they are done...

As preventative maintenance, I replaced wheel bearings last year on my 997.1. Carriers were fine. Fairly simple job for a good shop but not a DIY!

Ok, thank you all. Car has lower milage, but I figure carriers and bearings are in the fold.
