You have a 997 GT3 - any other 911’s?

I'm not sure if any 911 can fit 2 car seats in the rear where the driver & passenger would still be comfortable. This is why M cars are great - real everyday "sports" car. Same reason why I kept my m3 for the time being - good beater and can carry babies.

it has enough usable power for the street imo...I find I can use most of its performance in the canyons at sane speeds whereas with the gt3 you need to really be breaking laws to have fun.
the old saying “it’s better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow” really applies here.

The aircooled cars are more raw and visceral which helps make up for the lack of speed.

It’s an epidemic! I also have 997 RS and 964 C2. RS def a troublemaker on public roads as it eggs you on. The 964 just feels like a nice pair of broken in jeans for relaxing in. Need more power in 964? Gamroth builds awesome NA motor mods to 400 hp and RUF to same but more torque w single turbo - rode in Alois’ own version of this in June - v linear, smooth, quiet.
Our girls are on booster seats now. 2 full size car seats will cause swearing.

"A 991.1 Targa is going to feel like a Maybach in comparison to your GT3. Completely different cars."
This^ It's surprising they are only 5 years difference. Feels like much more.

I’m to the point where I say screw the back seats and get a GT4 to daily.
My wife will be getting an x7 and I don’t mind driving her car with the kids in tow.
Am i crazy to think I’d enjoy both a 997.2 GT3 and daily a GT4?

If I were looking for another car to park alongside my 997 GT3 I would have to go air cooled. Anything else modern Porsche in the garage I would always want to drive the GT3, so whatever that other car is it would just sit.
The aircooled cars are a completely different experience so they would be a nice compliment. I think back to my 993 Carrera 4 and how much I would enjoy having that at the same time as the GT3. I think the ultimate 2 car Porsche garage for me would be a 997 GT3 and a 993 Turbo.

Are you asking about a replacement for the f80 as a daily or another 911? Clearly you won't fit car seats in the 911
F80 is tough to beat from a family daily street perspective even if it is a little light on ///m dna and more of a stylish 340.
If you want to shift gears you don't have too many options. Sti limited with the wing delete and tune it with stock exhaust so it looks like a regular car but makes 375whp is possible. But it's prob too down market for most folks on this board.
I am struggling with the same situation in fact.

I may just end up keeping the M3. Doesn’t seem to be a suitable replacement that warrants the change. It’s feasible for me to be selfish and get another 911 in replacement of my m3 for my DD activities but I know if I go down the route (eg. 997.2 turbo) I’d miss out on using dads car with the kids and would be forced to use Mom’s cars for such activities.
In the end, there’s no denying we’re spoiled to have these kinds of problems.
