Default Battery charger/tender

My NOCO Genius G7200 charger passed away today, after 5 years-I used it plugged to the cigarette lighter pretty much 24/7, and I thought it was a good choice. Now that I need another one, are there any recommendations on what I should get? Mine has been superseded by a newer version that also includes lithium batt option, which I don't really need, but perhaps it's also been updated in other ways. Mine did last a bit over 5 years, and I passed the warranty period unfortunatelly-

There might be something better-I do want a charger/tender, some also jump start(the G15000) but these things get expensive-
I'll shop online, any suggestions much appreciated-

Best,

John

Also, the 7200 accepts AGM batteries as well, which is why I got it.
There is also a new obdII connector which I wasn't aware of, I've been using the cigarette lighter option-

Also checking out these, not an easy choice-all require cigarette adapter, Noco and Batteryminder offer obdII adapter-

Noco Genius15000(lithium capable)

FWIW I have a CTEK. It's been going strong for 7 years.

We race Formula F which has a total loss "system" (i.e. No charging system). I installed a Ctek in dash port (with the LED charge level indicator) and charge between sessions. Never ever let down. I change the battery after two years and recycle the removed batter to jumper battery duty and Use the LED port to evaluate its condition. I also use Ctek in the 997 with the cig lighter. Again no problem. No affiliation, but for us, a perfect product.

I've got a bunch of CTEK's...

I've got a couple 7202's for 'heavier' duty jobs, like actual charging and bring close to dead batteries back to life. The rest of my CTEK fleet is made up of US 3300, US 4.3 and a couple Lithium US. Overall, of the 12+ CTEK's I've got I've only had a couple go bad over a 10yr period so far.....not too shabby in my books for being used 24/7.

After many hours searching, I went with the CTEK 7002. I also looked at Pulsetech but no cigarette connection available. Batteryminder seemed like a good choice, they also make aviation chargers.
Ebay ended up having the best price, $113.50 in case anyone else decides to get one-
Thnx

Just received my CTEK 7002, also ordered the cigarette adapter with red yellow green charge indicator built in-first thing you notice of course, made in China sticker at the bottom. Maybe the battery minder is made in the US? Doubt it-
So anyway I'm also charging my S3's battery, interested in the desulfation/recond mode-
The owner's manual isn't that great, but many people recommended CTEK, hopefully it will last too-I'll search for more info on youtube as well

So far so good, I put it to work on my S3, even though it's a daily driver. After it did its thing, I put it on recondition mode and waited for that, took a while and then I put it on the GT3 on the AGM setting. Then I put it in record for the AGM, it went through the process, and nowI left it back in the snowflake/AGM setting. I thought leaving it in recond for days might be dangerous since it's at 15.7V, as I recall. Leaving it in charge/AGM mode seems more sensible, 14.7V
I'll keep reading more details, still don't think the manual is detailed enough. The Noco had percentage blinking lights, this one is just different. The blinking indicators red/yellow/green on the cigarette connector blinks green and it's charged, so it's rain rain rain the next few days...

I fully agree on how the Ctek manuals are very basic. From what I've learned with a Ctek, the main thing to look for when leaving it on any battery short term or long term is the little battery icons towards the top. When the Ctek has reconditioned and/or charged the battery a little green light will show up by the "full" battery icon. This means its in maintenance mode and will keep your battery topped off and fresh for a while. Now, you might notice that every so often it'll drop out of maintenance mode and go back to charging (orange light by the half-full battery), this is normal and part of keep the battery healthy....it's basically letting it discharge slightly and then topping it off again.

Hope I made some sense with this and didn't make things more confusing.

It seems to be working well-on both cars I did both charging and second mode. After that the GT3 stays on charge for AGM, and it reaches the last stage status. So far, no issues thnx
