Yep....I replaced mine with a set of Sharwerks (see link below) metal pipes as a preventive measure when I had the engine dropped last year to have its coolant lines welded.

Yeah the pipes were already pinned but I guess previous owner didn't replace the coolant pipes

yes they crack. the sharkwerks elbow are on mine.

I also though it was cheap insurance to add the sharkwerks coolant pipes when I had the engine out to pin the coolant fittings.
