Know of a couple with 80k + that still make it to the track a few times a year. Like any other car it all depends on care and type of use. 39k on 997.1, never had a single issue, not tracked but I do regularly enjoy it on back roads and fully expect to have 100k+ mile car at some point. Oil changes every 6 months max, proper warm up, good gas and staying on top of other fluids, plugs etc. goes a long way even on the track toys.

Interstested to know this as well. Plan to go down the SW 3.9 route myself. Would assume that build is at least as durable as a stock engine and probably more so. Anyone that has done a 3.9 conversion ever opened the engine back up after?

I’m 46k and car is used as intended
has been very reliable with general maintenance performed religiously. That is expensive just FYI. It adds up. Dozens of oil and trans and brake bleeds, tires, brake pads, caliper revilds, algnments, etc.
Only real mechanical issues that weren’t wear related or unplanned... clutch fork and guide tube failure on a near new setup (new factory part failure), a shock, oil pressure sensor, decklid fan, and just recently one of my power steering lines started seeping back near the motor.
That requires a drop so we’ll be doing some other preventiative like rubber hoses and seals, belt, check all the idlers, will have axles services, and checking breakaway on diff, will service if needed.
Drive the car hard stay on top of maintenance and they are very very reliable cars.

snowboarder54 had the engine opened by SW after a lot of miles, looked perfect. I have had no issues. Maintaines my car like Spyerx above, including a lot of oil changes. Have had oil analyzed a couple of times, perfect.

I keep telling myself that the upside of blowing my 3.9 is the ability to upgrade to a 4.1....

I have 79K on my 2008. Dealer maintenance is expensive - the major service is like $3K. Tires are also expensive, and mine seem to find screws a lot. I have had nothing mechanically go wrong with it. Great car.

Change internal filters and oil regurlarly;
Pin your coolant lines;
Have an eye on plugs and coils and that's about it for lots of miles.
I know of an 80k KM RS but it had two engines, both failed around 15k-20k back when it was around new.
