Default Guards Red Frankenstein GT3

I'm looking for a stock(ish) GR driver's GT3 and am considering this cosmetic Frankenstein:

https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ink=true&Log=0

I know my way around these cars and after talking to the helpful but mostly clueless sales person, it looks like all the mods here are cosmetic and easily reversible (seats, RS flares, side indicators, wheels, door pulls, etc). Not concerned about PCCB.. would box them up and switch to steelies.

Searching for the VIN hasn't really turned up anything but I must admit my research is limited to intense googling.. no carfax account.

VIN: WP0AC2A91AS783372

Anybody have any details they can share?

Not sure your budget or if you have an aversion towards Canadian cars, but this 12k mile car in Ontario is probably as good as it gets: https://porschelondon.com/inventory/...ds+Red+1443335

The GR Frankenstein doesn't look too bad for over 40k miles on her. BUT, the Carfax shows some damage.... there's a link to it on the Auto Trader site....

Are you looking for a completely stock car? Why remove the RS flares? That’s an oem clubsport roll Bar in there as well. Seats I can understand if you want to go to GT2 buckets.

If you want a completely clean Stock example with no history, probably better options out there.

Aside from the accident the Frankenstein car doesn't look too bad. I used to live five minutes from the dealer. There are several "used car lots" in the area that typically sell cars that were taken in as trades and wholesaled by OEM dealers. Not that I haven't encountered plenty of unscrupulous dealers of all types. But buyer beware. Do lots of diligence on this one...

That's over and I'd look at driver RS in the $150k+ range.

I definitely missed that. Thanks. I'll dig into this with the dealer used by that owner and see if they can provide some info. And PPI if I get that far.

There's a lot of subjectively in what to keep and not. I simply meant that of the mods done to the car, they are all easily reversible if I wanted them to be.

See the 997.2 at Switchcars for cheaper and in the US so no tax/importation issues to deal with

If you're in the market for a GR car, something tells me SY wont suffice.

I was interested at a Aqua blue 997.2 C2 at STA so when I was in the LA area I went to go see it in person. They keep majority of their cars outside so that kind of turned me off. This particular car didn't start right away so they had to jump it. Upon removing the battery cover, I saw a substantial amount of light gray splatter in the surrounding area, possibly primer. I asked if this car had any body work and he couldn't tell me.

They work with The Auto Gallery so that's where it might have came from. They are a decent dealership but don't expect to get any detailed answers about the car when you ask them.

This car was owned by a guy named Floss. He was buddies with Creaminz, who had a ton of drama surrounding his .1 GT3 after he sold it. After seeing this car and how it was treated, I’d be wary of any car in that friends circle.
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...gt3-owner.html

Maybe you can contact him through Instagram.

This car was modified a lot more than its current state. I remember at one point it having a cup car wing/deck lid with many more performance modifications.

I don’t know any of the individuals above but I would do your research.

oh wow. Good find. I know of the infamous Creaminz and Floss, their brands and the shoddy work I’ve seen at SEMA and on this board.

That is probably a deal breaker for me then. Buy the owner as much as the car and all that.
Thx very much for this info.

I was eyeing this car as well before I connected the dots...

You can google "Floss Design GT3" and find a lot of picures. Floss was also caught on camera dropping a bolt in an RWB car's trumpet... So definitely buy the owner.

Once again, I don't know any of these people directly... just through friends.

I just traded my 997.2 GR GT3 in to PNH. It has 54k miles, no stories and in great shape. I’ve had it for 2 yrs and put 10000 miles on it.

This thread keeps delivering. I almost bought your old Cayman off the next owner...
