That said, i think I've gotten mine to be pretty close to the 4.0s I've experienced.

- 4.0 coilovers (that in itself says a lot)
- DSC PASM module
- Monoball LCAs
- 8:32 R&P
- Sharky/EvoMS header
Are the 4.0 spring rates any different from the 3.8? Have to say I thought the final drive of the 3.8RS was 3.89 so I'm surprised that you went for the 8:32 cup gear as well.

Which step is bigger from 997.2 GT3 to 997.2 RS 3.8 or 997.2 RS 3.8 to RS 4.0?

imo 7.2 gt3 to 7.2rs is a considerably bigger step. Wider track, more grip from wider tyres, shorter gearing from higher final drive seperates the RS quite distinctly from the gt3.

The 4.0 has more power and especially mid range torque but the dynamic handling differences are pretty small and you need to be driving the car really hard to show up the additional rear suspension work that has gone into it.

U can feel the difference in suspension just puttering around town. Elements of the 2rs suspension feel that filter into the 4.0. I didn't think it was so subtle. W/in 5min, composure over undulation, mid-range torque and what felt like an even lighter lwfw.

The 4.0 feels distinctly lighter in the front end.

The RS is a little more alive due to LWFW.

The 4.0 revs up smoother compared to 3.8RS. The 3.8RS had that little hiccup and of course slower out of mid RPM torque corners.

Back when we tracked 4.0 between 3.8RS, the motor was better for sure, but we never figured out what to do with the suspension to make it handle as well as the 3.8RS.
