There's gotta be a way to load any 997 ecu with gt3 software.
My car is running on Carrera s ecu but can't find anyone to give me details how it was done.

Call LA Dismantlers or DC Automotive, they might have some used ones.

Dealer called today, they say all the connectios to the ECU are as they should, ECU must be replaced.

Any ideas? New ECU costs here USD 6.000.

Can a used one be flashed to work with this car? Dealer here will not do it, would have to ship my ECU to be cloned or something.

don't know if you looked into something like this: https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...u-doctors.html

I've had luck getting ECUs repaired with Audis in the past.

Finally bought the ECU from the dealer to have a warranty on the diagnostic and parts.
Paid around USD 3.500, car is working again like nothing happened, so issue solved.

ECU died again. Dealer has been working looking for the cause for three days, they've narrowed down the issue to the alternator. They will be testing a new alternator with a new ECU next week.

Issue was a bad alternator. ECU received voltage hits and died.

Wow - usually it's just a low voltage causing the problem, and not actually frying the board from spikes/overages, so likely the voltage regulator.

Didn't the ODB/PIWIS readout show voltage spikes?

Dealer took a few weeks to find out, so I don't think the issue was showing on the PIWIS so easily.

After the ECU was damaged the car also had a problem with the fuel pump (level was off), dealer said it was due to voltage fluctuation also. New fuel pump and now the car is running as always.

P.D: Sure! figured the thread should have the whole story for other members with possible similar issues.
P.D: Actually the ECU wasn't bad in the end, was just a bad contact on a coil.
