Default First Porsche, new member!

Hello all. My very first Porsche has arrived! And she's a beauty. She's a CPO 2010 Carrera S, black/black 6MT. She hails from Texas and traveled by truck all the way to my home in CT.

She was relatively difficult to find. I was looking for a 997.2 and CPO was a must, as was MT and low mileage. I was vaguely tempted to look for an early model base 991 for not much price difference but after some deliberation I quickly realized how much more I love a 997 S. I stalked the Porsche NA page and made a move as soon as it hit. Had a local PPI done since I couldn't see it myself.

Very much looking forward to all you crazy porsche nuts and your wealth of information so I can sound intelligent to my friends.

Congrats.

Do you mind telling the RL crowd price?

Congrats.

Now, replace those amber turn signal lenses before we vote you off of the island.

$56,999 after mild discount. It's actually still listed on the Porsche NA site.

And yes I've had the car less than 6 hours and since you're already the second person to harass me about the amber turn signals Ill be ordering clear ones tomorrow.

Great looking 997. I also considered a base 991 but so glad I got a 997 S for my first 911. The newer cars can wait. Enjoy

Congratulations on your first Porsche! Great find on a low-miles manual.

What are your plans for her? Weekend car or are you going to get it on the track at some point?

For now, it's going to be a weekend car. As a sales guy, I drive a company car so all my operational miles go there. So i am in a decent spot to keep miles low while still enjoying the car as often as needed.

I would love to take it to a track sometime in the future. I have no experience on a track, but would love to take a class and give it a try.
