Front suspension clunking
Hi all,
I'm experiencing clunking sounds from my front suspension. The car has OE GT3 coilovers and the clunking noise occurs over all bumps small and large. I checked the top mounts just to make sure they were tight and they were. Is this a common issue? Where should I start diagnosing?

Lots of answers to follow but I'll say to check the bolts on the drop links. The hole in the sway to fit the bolt has a larger diameter than the bolt. So if it's loose it will clank.

I also started hearing a slight clunking (kind of a subjective term) but also like sharp clicking sound over any small or large road imperfection within a few weeks after installing Tarett front monoball camber plates. While at the Glen last month had a few guys drive it and they immediately recognized it as the slight slack in the monoball bearings. Apparently I just have to live with it.
Hope it's something this simple for you.

Just an update, it turned out to be shot Top Mount bearings on both sides.
OE Replacement

Elephant Racing has spherical ones for $325. I would go with these if my 911 were a track car.

Under all circumstances, mainly audible around town. It seemed to get better as the car warmed up though not sure there is any explanation for that, could just be coincidence. Not audible at freeway speeds most likely due to wind/tire/engine noise.
