Momo Prototipo installed - 997.2

Can’t really help on the wiring I know it’s been done but way over my head.
when I converted mine someone on the forums recommended the Works Bell 997 adaptor it’s pricier than a momo but comes w the resister that makes it more of less plug and play
so that might be an option for you if the homemade solution isn’t working.
Nothing like driving a 997 w a Protipo

9elvn - How much closer is the Prototipo to you than the stock steering wheel, if at all? I'm thinking of changing my steering wheel for one that's smaller in overall diameter and with a bit thicker grip. I'd also like the steering wheel to be about 1 inch closer to me (further from the dashboard).
I'd rather not lose the airbag, but I can't wrap my head around paying $2k+ for a new 991 GT steering wheel, and used ones are hard to find and not cheap.

I run deeper dish mod7 for track days which is much closer because of the dish. The Protipo is fairly flat dish
also it’s much thiner than the sport 997 wheel, which I prefer, you can re-wrap it thicker
it’s my favorite mod I’ve done for my 997 it feels right on the car

I too would like to know where it was wrapped. Great idea, I think the regular Prototipo one too thin.

Frank and his team @ exclusive options did the work.
their work is stunning and better than oem in my opinion… I highly recommend them
I think mine might be the first Protipo wheel he wrapped the spokes on…. Which really makes it feel special and the hub in leather to match the leather steering column was a must too

All of these look absolutely fire. I run a Prototipo on my '88. It is such a great wheel.

Sorry to bump an old thread but swapping my 997.2 OEM wheel out right now to a Momo mod 07 and wanted some clarity on wiring. The tutorials I watched mostly seem to be 997.1 and when removing the wheel, the wire harness stays connected to the stock hub (wheel has no wires attached when removed). When removing my wheel, like the one in original post here, the harnesses came off with it.
So do I need to pop off the plastic trim surround on the OEM wheel and remove the wire harness that way or is there another work around? I'm good with my understanding of airbag bypass and wiring the horn, etc.. just got stumped here since all the tutorials seem to show detailed photos that look different than mine.
TIA
