I just put on new Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires, 295/30/19 rears and 235/35/19 fronts which are the same size as my old P-Zeros. They are on the stock lobster forks that came with the car. They seem like an odd fit. I noticed someone on Facebook posted a pic of their tires and mine ride the same on the wheels, which again seem odd. Is this fitment correct? Any danger in this at all? I'm attaching the pic from Facebook, not mine, but identical

Yikes. Beware of curbs. I've had tires that fit like that, and they were fine, but I got curb rash just from thinking about parallel parking.

Something is not right in the pic. I just went out to my garage to check mine and they don't look like your picture. I have the same size tires on lobster wheels with Michelin PS2 and the edge of my wheels are not exposed like the pix above. The wheel almost seems too wide for your tire in the pix above

Is that a gap I'm seeing between the tire and the wheel or is that just shadow? It certainly seems like the tire isn't seated all the way at the edge of the wheel.

Do all four tires look like that?

I could be wrong but I think the right size for the lobsters is 305 which would explain what you're looking at.

I just had 295's installed on my lobster forks and they look nothing like that!

Not on a narrow body car. 295 is stock on narrow bodies, 305 on wide bodies. But I agree, it does look stretched.

I agree that something is off here. What is the width of the wheel - 2 numbers embossed at the valve stem - one is width and the other offset. You might try inflating the tire to around 60 psi to see if it will pop out into the proper groove (wear safety glasses as if there's a flaw in the rim, the force of the tire popping out could break it), then adjust back down to the correct pressure.

A few pics of the tires mounted in my garage look nothing like yours. The tire rim saver lip is either even with or slightly beyond the rim lip.

Two weeks ago I put Pilot Sport 2's on my narrow body '05 C2 with 19" black lobsters. 295/30/ZR19 on rear, 235/35/ZR19 on front. The tires stick out past the rim like they are supposed to.

That's the difference between OEM tires and non OEM tires....

OEM tires are supposed to give you the 245 /295 contact with the surface at high speed.

Yeah, I'm thinking that too. I've had both MPSS in 295's and 305's on my NB car. The 305's definitely had a squarer profile, with the 295's being more rounded or a faintly stretched profile, hardly noticeable. But in both cases there was no noticeable gap between the inner wheel lip and the rubber. It was only sidewall differences. This rubber looks like the bead is setup short of the outer rim.

Yes you have PS4's not MPSS's. But the PS4's are the successor to MPSS's. I'm subscribing to this thread to learn the outcome.

See my post #9. Inflate the tire to see if you can get it to pop out into the correct seat. Check the inside edge of the rim too to see if you have the same issue there. If so, you'll need to achieve two pops - one for each edge of the rim, inner and outer. Check the other rear tire too - inner and outer too.
