I just got done researching this. Here's my take:
Yes & No.. The "S" engine is allegedly not part of the same IMS issue as earlier non-S motors, but if you scour these forums you find those that have different thoughts..
Also, based on the build date, that car should not be prone to IMS failure, but again you find members with other thoughts
For sure, statistically, it is way less prone to failure that 996's and early 997's.
Mine is not a DD, but pretty close. I dont drive if there is ice or snow. Sometimes even rain. You can pull it off, but I feel like it takes a beating when DD. My brief case rubs on the back seat, the bolsters wear quick. Even one drop of rain in the interior seems to leave its mark..Also, the motor is much happier when its warmed up all the way. In cold temps, that could take 10+ mins..

I believe I posted this car in the "997 deals" thread. The price is fair, for sure. I just picked up an 06 C2S 6MT Coupe with 74k miles in San Francisco for a little bit more than that. I ultimately did not go to check this one out because of the tan interior and the fact that it was at a dealership. Had cash in hand and wanted to purchase from Private Party enthusiast who knew a lot about of the car he was selling.
Also, I am always wary of cars sold in NoHo, Burbank, Glendale area. Just growing up in LA and knowing how certain ethnicities in that area drive and "take care" of their cars and how shady some of those dealers can be.

That drivers door inside handle is either out of adjustment or the assembly inside the door panel is cracked and the spring won't properly return it. It's important as there's a pin on the backside of it that works with a microswitch to raise and lower the window with door opening and closing. Those front bumper vents you like have been added to that car, possibly as part of a 3rd center radiator install, which would be a nice plus if done correctly.
