Default Looking for help for a friend - 997.1

Will be his 1st Porsche, want him to have a good experience - not a steal, just a fair price for a really good car.

What would the current market $ be for a well optioned 2008 C2S?

- under 20,000 miles
- original owner
- NM condition

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Matt

Asked a different way - is US$44K as a transaction price in range?

Depends on a lot of factors.. coupe or cab? tip or manual? what options? maintenance history? $44k CAD or USD?
$44k for a 08 C2S with <20k sounds pretty good if it's in good condition and well-optioned. I paid $42k for my 08 C2S with 53k and highly optioned.

You can build the search criteria on many sites like cargurus with the exact options he is looking for to determine an average price range of current market inventory.

44k won't get you a 2008 C2S with < 20K miles

it'll get you a 2005 C2S < 20K miles
it'll get you a 2008 C2S with > 20K miles
It'll get you a 2008 C2 (non S) with < 20K miles

but not all three

Thanks guys - this car is original owner, meticulous maintenance, 100% stock with just new rear tires, essentially 'perfect'.

That's a good deal if the car checks out.

+1 sounds like a fair price, maybe even a really good deal. Pass the below link to your buddy if he ends up getting one

A few months ago I paid 44K for a 2006 4S Cab with 30,000 mi.
Fully optioned with full leather etc.
I would rate the interior as perfect, the exteriors only flaws were some minor paint chips on the front. New tires....needed nothing done.

I felt I got a fair deal, not a good deal. One factor was it was a independent dealer and they took my work truck in on trade which made the transaction easier for me than dealing with a private sell.

This was a southern Cal purchase

This is a good price. There was a 06 C2S 6sp I was looking at with 32k miles asking $44k and would take $42k. I passed on it and bough a cheaper C2 with 40k miles but $42k was a fair price. A texas 2006 C2S 6sp with 30k miles was listed at $42k and sold for $40k.

However, as others pointed out....it 100% depends on the PPI. 20k miles sounds great on paper but it means the car has been sitting for long periods of time which = bad things. In looking through the prior owner's service records of my car the annual maintenance costs were inversely proportional to the annual mileage.

Is this car a 2008, <20k miles, and asking $44k? If so, that is a great deal assuming it is in good shape. I'd even advise my friend to pay a few grand more if necessary.

Salut Matt,

Check the carproof to be sure, and I think I know which car you're looking it. It sure looks good but I'm not a fan of white. I just put down a deposit for an 06 black C4S with 40k mile car and the price is ~40k. If he's happy with the carproof and it passes PPI then I think he needs to decide if he wants it!
