Sea Foam or Techron
#2
I've used Techron on my pcar many times with positive results, especially the first time I used it after buying the car.
Never used Seafoam at all on any car though. But the funny coincidence is I just bought a bottle for my son's first car yesterday. His car is a high mileage piece of crap leaking oil everywhere and a bit too much sludge under the valve covers. I'll be tearing into the upper engine this week to replace just about every gasket. Then will run some Seafoam through the oil before the next change.

I use Techron on and off... Can't tell if it did any good (or bad). Using it calms two of the voices in my head.
Peace,

It's not a fuel stabilizer but rather a fuel system cleaner. It's petroleum distillates with PEA (Polyetheramine). PEA is patented by Chevron and licensed to BG. Chevron markets PEA to the consumer under the trademark Techron. BG markets to industry. The difference is in concentration. BG 44k uses a higher concentration of PEA (hence it's really expensive). BG 44k is meant to be to be used once every 30-40 thousand miles while Techron can be used more frequently.

I run a bottle of techron through a tank of gas before most oil changes so that any contamination of the oil is flushed out at the change. You can buy a six=pack on eBay for a reasonable price.

Techron states fuel stabilizer for up to one year as well as its cleaning properties.

I can vouch for SeaFoam been a great stabilizer, I run a full can of it through the last tank of gas till 1/2 empty on my boat every year before putting it up for winter.
Never once had a fuel issue in the spring.

Bruce.....last we talked - these seem to be new voices...
FWIW - I have used Techron and most recently STP Ultra 5in1 fuel system cleaner. Both right before oil changes. No real symptoms before using the additive. No change afterwards.

Early on in my life, I was a certified auto technician and never really thought or are much for many of these additives. Our shop started to use BG products and I was impressed with the results they provided. Thumbs up for 44K, as I use it in my car.

+1 for BG44K....my Indy does this every two years on all of my cars.
Except the BMW gets the BG oil treatment every other oil change as well.
