Default 997 PCCB brake pads questions

I just had my car service from dealer and it pass with flying color, except the PCCB pads wear measurement seem lower than expected. My front is 5 mm and rear 7 mm pads remaining, question is "is it time to change out the front pads? my rotors are in perfect condition at this time.
The rule of thump in this forum is change out the pads at 50% wear, is it true new pads are about 13 mm? if so, my front need to replace and the rear is borderline at this time. Please chime in if you've change your pads lately, also where is the best place to buy OEM pads with the lowest price? thanks in advance everyone.

I had my PCCB pads replaced at 8mm up front and 9mm in the back. I had a slight squeak and replacing the pads made them silent again. I'm fairly aggressive with over maintaining my cars though. I would due it again in a heart beat to keep the rotors safe. I believe the total shop cost was about 1500.

My car has 11800 miles on it as of today, pads and rotors upon inspection is fine per mechanic but it seem low reading of the front pads.

32k on mine, mechanic said they were nearly new. They do squeak though, especially when I drive aggressively.

Carbon brakes are supposed to last a very long time, 12,000 miles is very little.

Mine were at 45k spirited miles when replaced and again my dealership stated they still had significant life left. Squeaking is what made me replace them.

This comes from my 997.1 service manual (MY 2005) under PCCB brakes

The brake pads must be replaced when the brake pad warning indicator lights up, but no later than when there is a residual pad thickness of 2 mm.

I've got 103,900 miles on my PCCB-equipped 2006 car and the pads are still plenty fine. The pads are basically the same as those on the non-PCCB cars--just a slightly different parts number. Maybe $100 more. Seems like your wear rate is way excessive!

Just wait until the wear sensors trigger and then replace them. That is plenty of warning. I know PCCBs are expensive and you don't want to risk damaging them, but these cars have wear sensors on the inner and outer pad on all four wheel brakes.

The rate of wear depends on driving style. They could last 100K, or 10K...
