Default DIY decklid porsche letters

I believe I want the porsche letters on my decklid. I wasn't willing to spend the $100 on the letters to find out.

My buddy has a 3D printer so we just made them. The cool part about this is, I can change the scale to get the sizing the way I want which isn't necessarily the size porsche wanted.

Hoping I can add a custom touch to a standard rebadge

Interested to see how this turns out. Do you sand down the tops of the letters to smooth out the defects before installing?

Yeah, that's the intent. Hoping to have time this weekend to play with it. I got a couple of other loose ends I need to take care of first.

I am also going to to try extracting the horse off the front crest and print it. I don't believe anyone has done that and would add a unique touch.

Great idea, maybe your buddy can offer a custom badge service for Rennlist members

Won't the horse make it look like a Ferrari logo?

Good point on the Ferrari logo. The horse is different but 99% wouldn't know.

Dang it... I didn't think of that. Any other ideas?

Let me get the letters done. If they turn out good, I can get some more made.

Maybe model # designations, not so much for the 997, but for example on the Cayennes there are 955, 957, 958 and next year another one.

thoughts on a smaller Porsche without the spacing and the horse?

No horse and the negative space between the letters is necessary.

$100? I spent about 1/3 that for OEM PORSCHE letters.

I went and looked at the Ferrari horse, it looks much different. I think the horse is a nice touch.

agreed completely. watch the curve of the lower decklid otherwise ur badging will frown down which looks terrible (and defiantly not oem).

The only factory letters i could find was at suncoast are 75.00 for the set plus shipping.

I debadged my 997 but the P O R S C H E block letters might replace Carrera. I does look a little naked.
