997.2 Spark Plugs Change Cost
My 2012 C4S is coming up on 40k miles and was wondering about the cost of spark plugs change at the dealership. Anyone had it done recently? Thanks.

I did this maintenance my self like a lot of others here on the forum. There is a great deal of info on doing this work on this site. My point is that even if you are not comfortable doing it yourself an independent mechanic can easily perform this task for a lot less especially if armed with the info here.
I am sure others will let you know how much the dealer charges. You could also call them to compare with an independent mechanic in your area. The plugs are also suppose to be replaced after 4 years regardless of mileage, so you do need to get on it.

I recently had the spark plugs replaced, front differential oil replaced, PDK clutch oil changed and replace the serpentine belt on my 2011 4S. Cost was $1048 at a Indy shop. Mileage was 31,000.

Out here in Silicon Valley, $1000 only covers the PDK fluid & front differential change at Indy although that includes the PDK pan/filter also. As result, i had to DIY the plugs & coils to keep cost down.

My cost was $475 at an Indy. $115 in parts and three hours labor for $360. As stated above, I did these at the 4 year interval despite having half the miles at the time.

Old thread but just for information- called around to two of the dealers in Houston for a price to replace plugs (09S). Dealer #1 $750. Dealer #2 $1300. I had an Indy do it for $401 out the door. How do these people sleep at night?

You should ask them. Seriously. Are the service advisors gouging customers to make higher commission or what? Talk to the service manager.
Hours are hours. That's why Porsche has a higher rate to account for the training, facilities etc but I don't see how one dealer is 80-90% more than another local one.

Houston is an absolute nightmare for car care. I've never seen anything like it - the price gouging is ridiculous. Btw, those were similar quotes to what I received back when I needed to have them done on my old 997.1. Wound up doing them myself...
