Default Ceramic brake pads - anyone use them?

I put ceramic pads on my wife's Lexus IS250 and they are amazing! No brake dust!!! I really can't believe it. I read somewhere that this is because the material itself is not "sticky" like regular metallic pads. True?

They removed the grabby, non-linear braking that always bugged me about her car.... I am not sure this would be good for a sports car.

Any experience with them?

Peace

I just replaced my fronts with hawk ceramic and way less brake dust. Definitely worth it and very easy to swap them out . There are many good threads on this

Hawk Ceramic on 997 and both Audi S4's. Best to stay with Porsche OEM pads and rotors on the 993 though.

I put Carbotechs on a 2015 Z51 Vette, best mod I did, barke dust went down about 85% and stopping power improved about 10%. Simple easy mod. I will do Hawks on my Pcar.

I replace OEM pads with Hawk pads probably 2 years ago. I have no idea how they would perform on the track, but for rambunctious back road driving I cannot tell the difference in performance between the Hawk pads and the OEM pads. Way less brake dust, though, which is a reddish brown (less obnoxious in appearance) and washes off much easier. I'm sold. I wanted to replace the OEM pads on my wife's band new Macan, but I don't think anyone makes a fitment for it yet. With respect to 997s, I believe Hawk makes several flavors for different driving conditions.

I have had very good experience with EBC Yellowstuff and Redstuff brake pads. Quiet, great stopping power and low dust.

They have min thickness stamped on them. You don't have to replace them until less than that and you use a caliper measuring tool to see.

I never turned Porsche rotors. They never grooved for me nor squealed etc.
