Nice. If you don't mind me asking about the scoring, do you drive in the winter and what was your oil consumption like over a 4K interval? Just another nervous .1er with a dirtier left tail pipe.

I was not having any issues or symptoms and elected to do a preemptive rebuild. However, once dismantled they found piston and cylinder scoring similar to what Ben Z has documented as well as lifter damage. I added on some additional maintenance items but I'd suggest contacting Flat 6 and they will do a much better job at explaining the scope of work. Thanks!

Drifting
LN bores out the cylinders (mine went to 4.0L), had upgraded pistons, rods, bearings etc etc, machines the heads. I added cats, headers, gt3 tb and comp plenum

I typically don't let the car sit more than a couple of weeks without driving it so it sees occasional cold temps but not snow. Any time it goes out it runs long enough to get the oil up to temps; I didn't have any measurable oil consumption even on a 1,000 mile road trip. My Blackstone oil analysis were immaculate so I assumed I was doing everything correct. Go figure.

+ No measurable oil consumption
+ Never sits for long
+ Oil analysis results are perfect
+ No symptoms
2 independent trusted mechanics told me that w/o oil consumption and other symptoms, many cars with scored piston walls outlast their owners ownership. In fact, scratches on piston walls that you can't really feel with your fingers are considered normal on most engines.
What's the current mileage on your 911?
