997.2: switch from PASM to SPASM
Who of you has done this before?
Which parts are needed?
My 997.2 with PASM needs some new dampers and maybe that would be the chance to upgrade!?

All you need are the four springs. That's literally the only difference (LSD not withstanding).

Are you sure? So I would only need to get the springs for a normal PASM car and install them? I have been thinking about literally the exact opposite question. I have SPASM and wouldn't mind going to PASM. I often daily my 911 and have more extreme cars so I wouldn't mind this having a more compliant ride and scraping on things a little less.

That sounds good!
LSD I have, cause its a C4.
I think in your case, you need the dampers, of course.
I want to change them anyway, so nwGTS might lost them in his reply.
Im surprised that the PASM control is the same...
But these would cost only around 400 bucks right new, so that would be okay, if...

If you need new dampers too look into bilstein damptronics. More adjustable than OEM for same cost per corner.

Coincidentally I was also wondering about retrofitting SPASM (I've begun the process of looking for a used 997.2 and want to know how hard it is to add SPASM if not already fitted).
On the one hand I've heard that (like nwGTS said) it's just the springs. Excellence (issue 180, page 102) said:
"According to PCNA, the Sport PASM setup doesn't alter the dampers, anti-roll bars, or suspension bushings, but its spring rates are roughly nine percent stiffer."
But...
From hunting around other threads on Rennlist and 6speed, the most offered list of changes says that it's the following that are changed:
And that the dampers remain the same.
However, I haven't had the time to hunt through all the parts to make up my own mind as to the definitive list.
I've been away from Porsche for a few years. What's the best site to look at parts diagrams, lists of p/n vs. options, etc. ?
Karl.

Karl. You're over thinking it. Check PET parts list. Dampers and sways are the same. It's just springs.
For guy above who wants PASM springs post a WTB thread. You'll have hundreds of hits since most ppl who went eibach or tech art or HR have PASM springs in a box somewhere. Don't spend over $300 for the set. Heck I've seen some for free in the member giveaway section.

Hi folks,
I decided to look through PET to see if I could figure out the list of parts that would be required to upgrade by 2010 C2S (regular PASM) to Sports PASM (option P17).
First for reference, here's the version of PET that I used: https://www.porsche.com/all/media/pd...A_GB_997-2.pdf (dated "12.07.2016")
PET doesn't flag 'P17' parts, but I believe P17 is effectively the combination of the Sports Suspension (030) and Locking Differential (220) options. Whether accurate or not, that's what I went with and I tried to pick out the suspension parts that differed if either the 030 or 220 options were fitted.
The following two images summarize what I found. Please note that I haven't done extensive double/triple checking for accuracy, so don't use these as gospel. You need to do your own due-diligence if you're assembling a parts list for your own car.
So at least for my 2010 C2S, there seems to be more to adding SPASM than just changing the springs.
But if you have AWD, GTS model (either 011 or 019), Speedster (503), Sports Classic (756), etc... the parts will differ.
Karl.

I did the P17 install on my 2011 C2S.
Dampers, sways, shocks, controller and bushings are all different.
