2008 .1 2S X51 37000kms slight miss when cold and
at idle and on easy acceleration up to maybe 3500revs, but is very smooth and strong on harder accel... the plugs are maybe 2 years old now, and i hardly ever take it to redline, like 3 times in the last 3 years...just found a bit of oily residue in throttle body when i removed the air filter box...not much winter driving, and very little wet...maybe time for coil packs...? no CEL, so would there even be any codes in durametric? i still need to boot camp and parallel my mac so i can use it again, the durametric, i mean, in meantime...thoughts? tia...kk

My coils were done at 60K, I changed them with plugs. Take a look at the coil heads (part sticking out), see if you can see hairline cracks on them. The cracks let the moisture in and then you get misfires. I run Durametric from VMWare Fusion, XP install I keep just for that (lol), zero problems. Oil in intake could be AOS. Mine is still fine but my buddy's failed (2005 C2S) and that was the symptom. gl!

thanks for the reply
would oil in the intake cause misfires? or rough idle, like my symptoms?

Yes. We had to change the plugs on that 997 with the bad AOS because they were completely fouled by the oil.

It is, with some patience. It's a little tight. I find those electrical connectors (MAF, etc) a real pain to disconnect.
