How do you ship your Blackstone Sample?
I've sent in 2 samples and both times I've gone to the post office I get the weirdest looks from the counter people and I have to practically beg them to mail the Oil container for me. I understand their concern, it is a little weird to be shipping a taped black plastic container filled with oil.
What method of shipping do you normally use?

I print a copy of the letter from Blackstone's website and have with me when I go to the post office just in case. The letter explains why it is safe to mail the sample. So far have shipped 2 samples and the only issue I had was one took a long time to get to Blackstone - I think was lost in a USPS distribution center for over a week before it got back on its way

Yup, take the letter with you but you will probably not need it. Just say up front yes it's liquid but it's not hazardous. If pressed follow up with it's non hazardous used motor oil going to a lab for analysis. And if pressed again say from a Porsche engine. Never had to pull the letter out.

I just shipped a sample and I explained what was in it and how it was packed - it was no problem what so ever.

I use their prepaid sample containers and just put them in my mailbox with the flag up like I would for an outgoing envelope. Probably done 20 of them this way without issue.

The post office has refused me before so to save time and energy of arguing, I go to the UPS / Mail store and ask for a small box. I put the supplied Blackstone Vile in the plastic bag, in the container with my info and then just put it in a small box. No Questions asked and no issues.

OMG. Put it in a Maple Syrup container and walk away.
Try walking up to the UPS counter in California with a Barret .50 caliber that needs some fine tuning to be shipped back to the manufacturer. An oil sample is......comical. Its oil.

I do frequent analyses and always get questioned by the USPS. At times I've had to pull up the Blackstone note on my phone.
I've also had the USPS lose a sample, which sucks, so now I draw two samples each time I test. I think switching to the pre-paid bottles and dropping them in a mailbox is the way to go.
I really like that a human being does the write up each time and looks at the past results. Do Wix and NAPA do this? Blackstone prices have gone up, to the point where buying the 6-pack makes sense for me.

NAPA has their kit on sale for ~$12 at times. Same kit as above.
Labs all over US.
