Default 2008 C4S valve tick?

Hello,
I have a '08 Carrera 4s that has been nothing but good to me. I bought the car 2 years ago with 72,xxx miles and now has 88k miles. Every so often when you blip the throttle you can here a tick, but car drives fine and has zero issues. It's been like that since Ive owned it. What could that tick be from? Possible that the timing chain tensioner is worn? Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks!

I'll make a random guess....

Piston slap due to scored cylinder bores.

could it be detonation? is it just a few quick ticks at lower rpm's and then it goes away?
I would think that a valve would tick constantly and a lifter might stick until warm.

Default thanks for the quick reply

This doesn't happen all the time. May happen once a drive or less. When it does, it's only when blipping the throttle from idle. Usually does it when warm I've noticed. It will never do it when in gear, but from time to time when free reving from idle. This is very weird to me.

It only ticks once.

Very helpful.....not constructed, but you got it off your chest.

I have the same thing, at idle and give it a blip like heel-toe.

It's normal, I had to look it up as well. There was a thread on that a long time ago.

Either ignore, or don't do it at idle, or be less aggressive while idle.

Another guess is the dual mass fly wheel, it can make sounds as it absorbs torque. My car also makes the sound you seem to be talking about.
