Default Motul 8100 X-Cess IS A40 Approved- Fans Rejoice

This was originally a response to the Uber Cheap Motul thread, but since the topic expanded beyond cheap oil deals, I figured this deserved it's own thread.

There's been speculation that Motul 8100 X-Cess was no longer A40 approved, so I emailed Motul and got a response from them which included an attachment of Porsche's Oil Approval for their 8100 X-Cess line of motor oils, valid until April 30, 2017, upon which the oil will be re-assessed for another 3 years. Attached for your reading pleasure.

Thank you for that!!!

I was in contact with the manager at Motul USA, Porsche Cars USA, Porsche of Hawaii but it seemed like i was at a dead end and they were either 1) too lazy to look it up or 2) just couldn't find it. I knew Motul wouldn't just blatantly rip off the Porsche A40 spec and falsely advertise it. Glad to finally put that one to rest.

I think it's better than Mobil 0W-40, but maybe not as good as Mobil 5W-50
