Center Console 997.1 and 997.2: Same?
Gens,
Please do you know if the center console in 997.1 and 997.2 are the same? Or in other words: A center console, extension panel (cubby) and handbrake surround trim from a 997.1 does fit in a 997.2?

997.1 trim is volcano grey in color whereas the 997.2 is black. The radios are the same size. So is the radio delete shelf from a GT3. The AC controls and lower PASM/PSM/PSE/Spoiler controls also fit in both units. The lower cubby also is the same size. But electronics between each one is slightly different so transplanting them is a bit more complicated.
To answer your question yes the parts will fit. Just check the interior color scheme for the trim though, or paint to your preference.
edit: I answered the wrong question. Thought you meant the front center console where the electronics are. You meant what Porsche calls the the rear center console between the driver and passenger. PET shows identical part numbers for the rear console itself. Trim pieces would fit then too. Just pay attention to minor differences for MT vs Tiptronic/PDK and coupe vs cab as there are some minor part number variations depending upon options.

I believe that the rear center console is the same in 997.1 and 997.2.

Thank You for your answers, but just to be a little more specific, this is the piece that I'm talking about. So, same in 997.1 and 997.2?
Cheers,

Oddly enough Im in the process of buying a new console. (Cocoa)
For my Cabriolet, there is a difference. The top down buttons are different, so if I want to go 997.2 I need to change hardware.
Not sure non Cabs

For all 997 variants, the convertible top switch is the main difference item to consider between center consoles. The little rear cubby is removable so any console can be with/without. PDK vs Tip vs Manual should make no difference for consoles. Also, I believe the 997 console is the same as for the 987 Cayman. I know the door panels are the same 997/987 (except the pull handle which is moveable).

Using a 997.1's center console on 997.2 may not work. I have ipod+usb+aux port in my arm rest and I am sure 997.1's do not.
But I think .1 can use .2's console. Just leave the input's unhooked.
