Default Replace clutch? Or no? (Pic)

Dealership sent me pictures of my clutch and a couple other things.

What do you guys think? Does this look bad? It looks "used" to me but not bad. Other thing worth noting is it was fine before they pulled the engine to fix leaks. This clutch has about 10K miles on it.

Thanks,

Steven

I would wait for a more expert opinion, but it looks basically new based on the depth of the rivets. 10k miles, doesn't look abused or heat build up. On the other side of the coin, that's definitely a "while you're in there" part. I think they are in the $500-600 range for a new PP and disc? I would also be on the fence about this.

The most expensive portion is the labor. I say do it while you're in there. But since they pulled it apart, I wouldn't let them charge you additional labor to install it.

If they are in there. This is a whileyouratit item.
No labour charges? Just a fair cost on parts. I'd be all over it.
Plus they should offer you a warranty on this new clutch? Check on that.
Keep the old parts.

I wouldn't do it, it's not needed but then again that's just me as I have always been against "pay now for future potential savings". The clutch is probably good for another 25K miles so you need to determine how many years it would take you to get there and weight that against the few hundreds $ you would have saved that many years from now if you replace it today.

I am on the fence about it. I am waiting for the associate to call me to give me the update but I have already put the budget together to do everything. The clutch kit is $800. The rest of the work is $6,000. The $800 dosnt hurt as much as the $6000. I also got tires so ill be around $8k when I pick up the car.

what would the warranty be on a new clutch?
2 years? Mileage restriction?

I will have to ask. This motor was installed about 6 years ago and had a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty.

Here are the pictures of the PS fluid leak and the IMS leak.

I got 197k on my last Porsche clutch (car died so I an not sure how long clutch would have lasted).

How do you drive? I got my mileage from rev-matching (all heal-toe).

Save the money and buy a index fund. IN twenty years, you will really see the true cost of that clutch.

Peace

Keep the clutch, it's brand new and you know how you treated it unless you don't care about $800.

Thanks for the input guys. I decided to replace it. I smoked it a few times in the past when I first got the car and the clutch was still new. I had a tough time getting used the the aasco flywheel in sport mode.
