Leaking power steering hose
All,
My 05 997 is in for service and I have a leaking power steering hose right at the pump. The host needs to be replaced and the dealer is telling me that thats an engine out repair. I want it done right but we are talking about $3000 to fix a $300 hose. Does this sound right?
They also tell me I have a rear main seal or IMS leaking. Which I am struggling to believe because this motor has 12k miles on it and was a crate motor installed by Porsche about 5-6 years ago.
I dont have a problem putting the cash into the car but it just seems a little off.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Steven

I trusted these guys, they have always done good. But their team has changed a bit since I started taking my car there. I called another dealership and they told me that its very possible the hose is an engine out repair.

Can you provide the vin number on your car? I am happy to research the repair for you. not uncommon for a RMS to leak over a 5-6 year period. If its just seeping leave it alone until you replace the clutch (if manual)
