Looking to Buy a 997
#31
I bought an 09 C2 with pdk 6 mo. and 7k miles ago. final choice was between a similarly priced 06 C2s woth full leather/tiptronic. splitting point was the thought of driving a non-ticking (possible) time bomb (IMS).
I just imagined I would never be able to shove that real or imagined issue far enough back to just enjoy the car. no regrets.
Enough power/traction/handling/solidity and style for this 59 year old!

Well.... the 997 GTS is wide body. While, on the whole, I'd agree that the package the GTS comes with (more power, optimized suspension, pse, more exclusive. .) makes it more rewarding in many ways compared to a 997.2 C2S, I still believe a regular 997.2 C2S manual with pse offers the purist classic 911 driving experience because of its more quirky narrow body inverted pendulum characteristic. Sure, the GTS is more powerful, more stable, more curvaceous, more exclusive. That's probably why I got mine.

Race Car
If anyone is looking for a 997S, my brother in CT just bought a 2009 C2S with 9000 miles. The car is absolutely flawless from what I understand, and it's well optioned with a 6MT. It's one owner (now 2) cream white with full natural brown leather. Just had oil and brake fluid service and new Hawk dustless pads put on. PM me if interested - he's had a bunch of P-cars. Not sure why he bought it or why he is selling it. I think he just wants something different. He's virtually not driven it since he took delivery 2 weeks ago.

you make a compelling argument for the C2S and some very good points.
cheers.

Ok since my original post I think i found one. 08 4S manual, sports crono, and CPO til Dec17. Still waiting for it to come back from service, they are putting a new clutch in. I will then get a PPI.
I have a couple quick question.
In sports mode is the suspension lowering noticeable , like my Cayenne ?
Are there any newer methods to hook up an mp3 player? no sat and no ipod is a killer
The Gundo hack, is the strictly for sound or does it improve performance also ? Does any one know who does it in CT ?
I havent been to this thread in awhile Thanks for everyone's input that I missed. I really wanted an 09 but finding what I want in my price range didn't look like it would happen. Ill be looking til the last minute.
Thanks in advance!!
