I thought PTS was you give them the sample color and they'll paint your car that color. I didn't think PTS was from a predetermined list of colors. Their are standard colors, then their are optional colors that they charge extra for, and then their is PTS. No?

I understand that currently the PTS colors are from a predetermined palette . I think in the old days it was anything you wanted. Not sure when the change was made. I also understand that the dealerships hate PTS and really don't tell you when you can order it. There are windows when you can pick from the predetermined "approved" PTS colors...as far as I know and I am not an expert on it.

^^^^ Correct. This was covered in Panorama a few months ago. Is was too time and cost intensive to create, test and go to market with just any water based color that met their quality standards. So they now use a sample set of colors they have already proven to meet these standards.

I am PTS Black A1 #1154/1243.

I ordered my PTS C4S Cab in 2010.

Wanted Champagne Yellow first but after many months they told me "NO CAN DO" so I chose another color that Edgy (Dan) had and they said yes.

Love this more than I ever would have Champagne Yellow! Around an 8 month process for me including the long wait for a no to my first choice.

At the time I wasn't aware of any list of approved PTS colors I just chose the ones I liked from old Porsche colors!

I know I don't have a GTS but thought I'd squeeze a few pics in anyway!

Tom

If Tom's car were a hard top and a GTS, this is what it would look like.

^^^ + ^^ + ^

I hate all three of you!

PS Not really...but between the Turquoise and Cobalt Blue Metallic, those blues are just about as purdy as it gets (especially Tom's Cab...even though she "only" be a C4S!)

I do know in recent years they have retired certain colors from the current PTS palette. E.g. If you wanted to order today you can no longer get Atlas Grey....big bummer when I win that lottery...

Saw this in front of the Honolulu Yacht Club two summers ago. Does anyone know if this is a PTS?

I don't believe Ipanema Blue was a PTS colour as I've seen a number of GTS' with this paint. I could be wrong, however.

Quick Reply: PTS.. 11/12 GTS?
