Maybe I'll save you a Firecake donut... maybe I wont.

Sounds epic. I can't make it this weekend, but if you do another one in the future I'll drive over for the weekend. It's about a four hour drive for me but I have some friends in Chicago I need to catch up with so this will be a good excuse.

This morning I woke up early, grabbed a coffee and drove from Lake Forest to the Soldier Field...approx. 36 miles each way. Took me a while because the NFL Draft created multiple traffic deviations around Congress Pkwy and Michigan Av, and Columbus. Then another detour at the Soldier field because I don't know (lot of families and kids). I'm not really an expert in that area, so I opened the google map location which was attached to the invite...but that took me to the Northerly Island, not the Burnham Harbor. Then I tried to get there twice, but the traffic was closed here or there...I didn't know which "open" road you took to get there...but after an hour driving in circles, dealing with closed roads, detours and few other things...I decided to see you guys next time. I tried my best...but couldn't make it...

Until we moved to the Lake Forest, we used to live just 2 blocks far from the Triangle. We really enjoyed the life and restaurants of that area...I saw multiple faces, but I don't remember particularly that one. But I will keep you updated...

Mr. Mango no one can ever doubt your dedication. We drove to the location (granted our trip was only a mile) only to find it blocked off at all three entrances by both the Draft and a random 5k run/walk... Of course, even though I called the harbor ahead of time to be sure it was open that 5k somehow went over their heads.
We ended up at the south lot which was open and of course the Garage Talk app didn't format the map I attached to the meetup post correctly.
Thanks to the few who made it out and ran into us as we were turning around at the block off point.
We'll try this again in a month or so.

It been years since I've seem him. Prob back in 2010. He would drive down on S. Michigan ave with his shirt off, top down. Then later see him on Rush Street. Too funny!!
