997.2 Spoiler Lip - Aerokit
I have a 2011 911 with the Aerokit Spoiler Option. I have delayed replacing my front spoiler lip as long as I possibly can, and it is time to replace the lip from too many scrapes on driveways, etc. After I purchase a new lip I will be placing a rubber trim piece along the bottom edge. (I have seen positive feedback on the one from ProTrim.)
I would like to know if anyone makes a more pliable and bendable spoiler lip - I would like to install a lip that won't experience cracking of the paint when it is inevitably scraped. My car is white, but I am willing to go with a flat black color if such a lip is available.
I have the Porsche OEM Aerokit option.
Thanks.

Let me introduce you to the 100 ebay lip (well made; damn good fit) and Plastidip.
What color is your car??? Pro Trim is good, and it's color all the way through, so it simply wears, but does not chip/crack. So, go ahead and add it to your current or future lip.
I have an original lip and back up lip. One is painted to match the car in silver and the other is silver/alum color Plastidip, with glossifier. I scraped the latter once, and just lightly sprayed Plastidip as touch up, and it simply can't be spottted.
I got mine here, but there are many for various years:

Plastidip is overused by tools and fools, but an application on a lip like this is spot on perfect for it.

My car is white and I would be fine with black plastidip.
The lip on that link is for the 997.1 model years. I will look and see if they make similar lip for 2011 (997.2 model).
Do you know for sure that it fits a 2011 GTS with the Aerokit Spoiler? I can't seem to find Ebay solution that fits 997.2 with Aerokit.
Thanks!

You won't. I looked for months, calling every major outlet and scouring the dark corners of the web. I've concluded that no one makes a commercially available aftermarket lip for the 997.2 Aerokit besides Porsche themselves.
Your best bet is to get the OEM lip and paint it in SEM trim black. It touches up easily and hides scratches well. Just epoxy the lip if it cracks.

I had planned to install a TT wing on my GTS, and had purchased the 997.2 Aerokit spoiler, p/n 997-505-983-03, to balance out the aero. Unfortunately, a major house repair is going to eat up the funds, so, have decided not to pursue the project. Have not yet posted the spoiler for sale, but will, shortly.
Paid $394 shipped from Sunset Porsche. Will sell for $350, and I'm coming down to Thousand Oaks in the next couple of weeks. That could save shipping if you're in Carlsbad, CA.
It's white, BTW.

Bump.
I finally cracked the lip on my 2012 997.2 GTS with the aerokit option.
Anyone find a replacement source yet?

I wish i could buy a half dozen of these things aftermarket and just replace them every 6 months. But no such luck and I look every few months. Some company did make an aftermarket fiberglass lip but it was more expensive than OEM which doesn't compute.
I hope someone chimes in and proves me wrong though.
