Congrats on your new baby. The good news is, there's no ims issue with '07s.

I have heard otherwise... Maybe I miss read but according to several articles there is still the small possibility of IMS bearing failure with the upgraded M97 engines, either way I drive it everyday and operating temps are 200 degrees and with 0W-40 oil what can possibly go wrong?

Three Wheelin'
With that said, go change your oil with NASA crafted 5.2W-53 gold infused unicorn semen oil. Change it monthly.
$37k for a car with 54k miles is a lot of car for the money. Congrats and drive the thing.

I live in Frisco and own the same car- I just have BBS wheels. I hope to see you around town! I don't daily mine though- maybe 5k/ year. Any interest in doing local DE's?

I did a lot of research about IMS bearing failure on 911.
Directly from Jake Raby from Flat 6: from 997.1 from 2006, IMB bearing does occur but the the condition at which the failure occur was flipped compared to 2005 model.
According to Jake, if you drive normally with your 997.1 06 model, your chance of getting IMS bearing failure is so low that he doesn't even recommend you paying him to bore out the engine to do the IMS bearing retrofit.
If you track your 2006 and latter 997.1 car then you may see IMS bearing failure but it's still a low chance.
On 2005 and earlier model (exclude the one with dual ball bearing I guess), tracking the car actually reduces the chance of IMS bearing failure. Not driving a 2005 model hard - or not driving at all increases the chance of IMB bearing failure. Note this is the complete opposite of 2006 997.1 model.
he went on with detail explanation of why but the above are the bottom lines.

Make sure you get some sealant on there. CQuartz is awesome and you can use it on the wheels too. Make sure to get the barrels as those will look rough over time if neglected. And CarPro Hydro2 is an awesome spray and rinse sealant for the windows or entire car really.
Awesome car. I'm jealous of the raspy and raw engine noise. Any photos of the interior?
