I really enjoyed the 2008 to 2011 episodes. I felt that those shows were not forced and their personalities were at their purest. As for Clarkson, while he may be an *** he was truly an original. My favorite episode was the race to the North Pole. Most of that was real emotion.

Chris Harris, Tiff Needell, and Jason Plato would have been the GOAT lineup for Top Gear. I'm not sure about Evans and LeBlanc, but since Harris is there, I have some faith that it will be a good show.

I also would have liked to see Mike Brewer and/or Edd China from Wheeler Dealers.

Chris Harris is perfect for that show. I hope he is not too sincere for it. I want to get a look at Sabine. Not sure about the others.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the new Top Gear turns out to be a hit and the Amazon shows fails...

I wish the best for both shows, Matt is not such a bad choice at all but everyone will be extremely critical no matter what they try to do. I'd frankly hate to be in their shoes. As for the Amazon series - in a few more years will the fans still be wanting to tune into watch three seniors (or pensioners) acting like kids?

Agree with the above - around 2008 they really hit their stride and the last couple of years, while still enjoyable, were getting silly with too much slapstick and sight gags.

To me the old Top Gear format had burned itself out. I felt like it had morphed into an ongoing Monty Python routine. It was the car tests, the track rankings and the guest interviews that I was tuning in to see. I miss the original show, not what it became.

Harris, Schmidt....great potential there. No Leno please. Watching him fumble around the test track
as a TG guest years ago was an embarrassment. The silence after his run time was telling.

Lisa Kudro over Courtney *** or Jennifer Aniston? Gotta be kidding

I was always a fan of the BBC's Top Gear, the chemistry between the presenters (which appeared genuine and not forced or strained), and whatever the presenters did singly. I particularly liked James May's Road Trip series with Oz Clarke. I never cared for LeBlanc in Friends or anything I've seen him in since.

I'm sure Clarkson, May and Hammond have a large enough following among the demographic that can afford (some of) the cars they showcase to make the new show a success, and I am looking forward to it.

It seems like every guy had his favorite Friends actress. For me, Courtney *** checks off all the boxes on the checklist... and then some...
