Lexus LC500 vs 911

That's the concept but I saw the production version in Detroit at the autoshow and they are almost identical. I thought it looked pretty swank in person.
Interior is very similar to LF-A and roof is carbon. Very low and wide. I was quite smitten.

Looks like an Aston Martin Vanquish / DB9'ish.
The Top Gear reviews of all previous Lexus sport cars has been disastrous, unless Lexus has done something significantly different this time I would stay with the tried and tested...a 911
The only Lexus that garnered good reviews was the LFA but if you did have $360,000 would you buy a Lexus?

Does it have useable rear seats for kids or an available MT? If not, those are deal breakers for me.

I find all these new cars have too many electronic gizmos. Lane sensing, lane departure, electric steering, traction control, super fast, look good on paper, boy would you ever look good in it.
I'm sure it will be fantastic. Especially on paper. And there will be a line up to purchase for that very reason.
But I'm less about looking the part. I want to feel the part. I like driving. I like the steering kicking back in my hand when I do something stupid.
New lexus? Nah. Don't like playing Xbox either.

My girlfriend has a 2008 Lexus GS350. The ride is incredble. Incredibly smooth. Good pick up. Good handling. Comfortable, but a little bit of a cramped interior. Great quality. Runs amazing. Cheap to maintain, even at the dealer. Love the car for what it is, but would not buy a Lexus for myself. Doesn't do it for me. I think I like Porsches. I could drive mine everyday and not get bored.

I read a quick blurb on the LC last week and I'm pretty sure the hybrid of that car is above the $200K range and the budget version NA V8 is in the $150k neighborhood.
A 991 GT3 is in the $130k starting ballpark. I'll take the GT3 and save some cash.
My wife drives a IS-F and it's an awesome, well rounded car that is not high strung at all. I am a fan of the sport performance Lexus models.

$150k...oh wow. I was about to say I'm different from most of the guys on here, I really like the look and I would consider it. I think it looks awesome without being too crazy (like that lambo Veneno...that looks crazy).
But as you said, If I can get a GT3 for $130k....makes it hard to justify $150k for the Lexus. I was hoping for them to be priced around $90-$100k....

people knock lexus, but the cars are just as advanced as any german car. Their reliability is absolutely amazing, and the dealer experience is amazing. Most aren't drivers cars, but there is a lot to learn from their reliability. What is it about their build quality that engenders such reliability.
The LC looks good. Why not. In this price range there is a lot of subjectivity.

I can't justify the price as of yet, Lexus didn't give us a formal pricing on the LC but I doubt it cost $150k as someone mention. This is a production car not concept like LFA, it will be mass produce and keeping the cost lower (but it's all speculation at this point). I love my 997.1TT MT and prolly never sell it (I said this many times before LOL), however this LC look amazing. If you haven't drive the RC-F, it not as boring as we think. If I am in the market for 991.2 or LC500, I might seriously consider it, both cars are more GT segment than sport cars as we know it. Plus, Lexus interior is luxurious, NA V8 with screaming exhaust, Lexus reliability has been rock solid and easier to maintain, l hope the handling is better than the RCF though.

Saw it at the NAIAS this weekend; sorry, that front end is just over done. Looks like the alien from Predator...
Lexus make beautifully engineered cars that are luxurious and reliable, but have no soul...

I'd consider it. Unlike the others that have mentioned they've never driven a Lexus that "did it for them," I had an ISF that the I enjoyed very much and miss from time to time. My 997.2 is clearly the better sports car, but the ISF was a fun vehicle as well, and one I'd daily drive over the Porsche if I were to have just one vehicle.
So yeah, I'd consider it.
