My 2009 C4S Launch Car Finally Arrived!
My first 911!
I found this 2009 C4S Launch Car at a Nissan Dealer in VA. The crazy part? It has 23k Miles on the clock! The first owner was in DC and if I had to bet, was a politician. They drove the car less than 2.5k miles a year for the first four years of its life. The second owner put an average of 7k miles a year for the two years they owned it. The poor guy found out he was having twins and traded the car in on a Nissan Leaf! (poor guy)
I was crazy nervous buying the car sight unseen, but the deal was just way too good to pass up. It took nearly a month to do all the paperwork and get her shipped down here to Dallas, but she finally arrived this morning.
The car is in even better condition than I could have hoped. It really does look band new. The car is a pretty standard Launch edition car complete with GT2 carbon buckets:
2009 C4S
Meteor Gray Metallic
23K miles
PDK
Sport PASM
Full Leather
GT2 Bucket Seats
Some other goodies
Original MSRP $113k+
Price Paid? $53k even.
First order of business this weekend is to swap out the steering wheel with a Sport Design Wheel. Second order of business is to replace the wheels with Carrera Sports.
So happy to have joined the club!

Thanks!
When Porsche introduces a new model they generally send a nicely equipped display model to each of their dealers to put in the showroom to drum up sales. These cars are usually near identical to each other. They're commonly referred to as "Launch Cars"
In the case of the 997.2 C4S the Launch Cars were what you see here. Meteor Gray, PDK, SPASM and for some reason they included the GT2 seats.
If you ever see a 2009 racing green Carrera S, that is in all likelihood a Carrera S launch car.

As far as the seats go, I had pretty much made up my mind before even getting the car that I would change the out for less "intense" seats. However, after driving around in them today, they're actually really comfortable. Really the only issue is getting out of them and the fact they're not heated. (The wife will never let me live that down. YOU PAID HOW MUCH FOR A CAR WITHOUT HEATED SEATS!??!?!?)

I have the Carbon Seats in my GT3, and find them superlatively comfortable even in 12 hour trips. They just work. To avoid scraping the seat bolsters, I sort of lever my butt over the bolster getting in by putting my right forearm on the console lid, and to exit, reverse the procedure, and rotate my body out over the left bolster. You will get the hang of it.
Great car for a great price!
all the best....
