Before I go up there for an inspection can you let me know if it is worth the 2 hour drive? I really hope to join the 997 club soon. Thank you in advance.

Call me crazy, but I'm not a fan of all the carbon fiber.
It also looks as if there is significant wear by the inside handle on the passenger-side door.

But also not a difficult to find car, finding a 997.1 S coupe manual shouldn't be too difficult, and prices seem to keep getting better on non-Turbo, non-GT 997.1 cars.

Thank you for the replies everybody.
I am going up there on Friday to check it out and run a ppi at the nearest Porsche dealership.
I asked him about this and his exact response was "It's like it never happened, you would get tax back" I guess?
He sent me additional pictures and from what he showed me, it looks like some minor curb rash on the wheels and a small scratch near the driver tire.
Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you for the help.
For me, superior cosmetic condition, inside and out, it a prerequisite to even considering a PPI, and that's very hard to judge from pictures. Before the trip, maybe have the salesman video-chat with you and walk around the car having him describe any blemishes he sees. If it does seem to be in excellent+ condition, it's a spec/color/miles/price.

It's possible that he is dealing with a saleswoman instead of a dude. A good friend of mine worked at Lyle Pearson Porsche and she killed it. I think that everyone has the "aggressive, untrustworthy salesman" ideal down; when they get a female who knows cars, a lot of people get to a different comfort level somehow. I always wonder why more dealers don't employ saleswomen (aside from the long hours not being kind to moms). She eventually quit for that reason also: she couldn't make the 12-hour days work. I remember walking into one one of the country's biggest Porsche dealers, one that had easily 20 911's in stock, and not seeing a single female, aside from the receptionist. To me, this is a huge opportunity missed, as so many successful women car shop for themselves. Not to mention that women often get stuck with the "mom car", which in P-car land, is the Cayenne GTS or Turbo, and they are the ones making the decision there. Why not have a more diverse set of salespeople?

Funny you say that, because when I was typing the post I started out with all the he/she, him/her, etc. and then just said fogit and simplified... I also still say mail-man instead of letter carrier... No offense intended, just a vernacular.

I agree that a woman would make a better P-car salesman than a male. The main reason I think there are not a lot of them is because the vast majority of women are not into cars like men are. My wife knows nothing about cars and can barely drive one, ask her about clothes and she will ramble all day.

No offense taken-It is just so common that we figure all car sales types are dudes, and most of us would be right.

Clothes; not so much interest there, although she dresses well. She just gets what she needs to look put together, but it isn't a passion. It is like how most people treat cars: as a utility or appliance
