Three Wheelin'
A few days ago, one was posted (red) in Portland, base manual 997.2, with a couple of documented accidents, asking $37k. I bet you could get that one for $33-34k, and it would be a fair price.

I can't stand seeing a nice black color car with black wheels! Looks like a giant turd.

For 34K asking? A 997.2S?
But this looks good:

Another carmax car (FL): https://www.carmax.com/car/16930608 - 2012 GTS with LSD and LWB, 33k miles and only $58k.
Got excited, called them and tried to transfer it to my local store, said it's non-transferable so I just said put it on hold and I would fly to Florida on the weekend. After hanging up, clicked some more and saw it had a FRONT IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. I guess it was too good to be true.

A 997.2 for $34k is a basket case.

That is a good price at $68k: at $58,000, it is a steal for someone unless the car was heavily damaged.

I also don't know how I can research the accident, extent of the damage, who repaired it or even how much it cost to repair.

They posted another GTS, 15k miles, $68k but doesn't have Sports Chrono: https://www.carmax.com/car/17122094. I requested a transfer to my local carmax for this one since it will only cost me $149.

Send the car for a reputable PPI and specifically ask them to dive deep into accident repair. That's the purpose of the PPI.
I know there have been a few nice cars scored from Carmax, but i've seen several that were really weak examples. Cosmetically poor, bad mods, bad bodywork, etc. Not impressed.

That is true, but after looking at it some more, I'm not sure about the car. It looks like it was specced to be a gt car. It's the first time I've seen comfort seats on a GTS...
