JamesBaxter and Staten911, I am a new member and actually bought the vehicle you were referencing! Funny thing is that I saw this post as I was in the process of purchasing the vehicle. I had the same concerns you did. I was never able to physically see the vehicle (but did a lot of investigation through 3rd parties, conversations, pics, and videos) prior to the purchase. I just received the vehicle on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised it had no paintwork to the right rear. The bumper was repaired and its quality is very good. Crazy thing about the vehicle was the lack of information and detail the selling dealer posted. Full PPF on the front bumper, hood, mirrors, lights, and fenders. Tires are in great condition. Porsche car cover, wind screen, and Porsche battery maintainer all included and the condition of the leather and seats are fantastic. This vehicle was definitely cared for. Overall, it is much nicer than I anticipated. The only disappointing aspect was a few bits of the carbon fiber. If you remember, it has the full carbon interior package. A few of the small trim pieces do have cracks that I didn't see in the photos. From my research I am learning this is common for this package. It isn't glaringly obvious unless you look for it, nothing I will look to remedy any time soon. The key carbon components (Steering wheel, center console, shift ****) are all in great shape.

Finally signed up on Rennlist, having surfed the site for 4+ years its the first time I come across this thread. I was in the market for a 997.1 2 years ago when a nice one could be had for 40k and opted for an F80 M3 instead because of my dog ( he's been in the car less than a handful of times LOL)
So now I opt in to search for my dream car once more, knowing I am paying more given this market. Great post on here i'll be sure to follow up on, im located in Miami, Fl where cars seem to be 8-10k higher than in other states.
Dream spec: 997.1 Cobalt blue, 3 pedals, C2 or C2S. Plans, factory aero bumper, duckbill, coilovers and some apex wheels. Done deal.
I live in Boca and welcome, don't buy anything in Miami. I specifically wouldn't buy a car in south florida. Grandmas used camry for 10k yeah but a used Porsche no way unless it's a new or 1 owner 3 year old CPO one from champion. Too much funny business down here unless you find a diamond in the rough owner. I would budget 2k for shipping. Cobalt is a great color.

Boca is a beautiful area! I hear you, I recently found one in West Palm, Stone grey 40k miles for 51, its a base C2 but they car looks pretty good in photos. I may go see it if they'll entertain giving me a decent offer for the M. First thing i'd do is grab some quad tips as I hate the base tips LOL.
