Thanks for the info! Doesn't sound like a "flexible" company to do business with.
All the best

I have not purchased there, but I have heard both good and bad things. The 7-day return policy and warranty is great! The "paying for transport to get a PPI" is not. For someone in Seattle looking at a car in Florida, $1100 (I think) in transport is a lot to pay before a PPI can be had. It is money down the drain if the car doesn't check out; they won't negotiate on price. With that said, if the car has repairable issues, they have a 30-day warranty.

Also, they made me a very solid offer on my pickup when I was in town. I ended up selling it Private Party, but their offer was for $2200 more than the Toyota dealer down the street: 29% higher.

They get a lot of inventory, some of it interesting. 2 weeks ago, they had a 987.2 CS manual in PRG with 50k miles listed at $31,900. We were in the market for such a car, and I called, but the sales guy said it was reserved within 30 minutes of it being posted. They had a slate grey manual turbo at a great price back in December. Carmax gets so many cars that on these enthusiast builds, they don't always know what they have and you might score something. The 991.2 C2S we just scored was in amazing condition, manual with every performance option, and it came (via previous owner) from Carmax. The original owner traded it in there as he was relocating and the local Porsche dealer low-balled him (surprise).

Typically, they are competitive on buy offers, and don't require a purchase to get the "best price". They will offer good $ on a RWD truck in snow country, as they can move it to Phoenix or SoCal easily enough, without having to wholesale it like a local dealer would have to.

The downside is obviously the lack of PPI availability, but if there of plenty of stories of people getting the "right" car there. Heck, I saw a gorgeous Mexico Blue 718 Cayman S on their site last summer! PCCB's, sport seats, manual; PSE. Maybe the owner just wanted to sell it and he, like everyone else, got low-balled by the greedy dealer.

I visited a 2008 C4S with only 6k mi on the clock, $62k at prestige imports in Denver. It was like going back in time 11 years, the thing was new. They're not moving on price and the timing just isn't right for me right now.

I'm in Denver and came across this in my search. I haven't seen it in person, but that does seem like a lot of money (despite the extremely low miles) for a car that is 2 generations and 11 years old. I'll be interested to see how long it takes them to sell it.

I wouldn't pay that for a 2008 C4S. It doesn't even have a special build. Maybe if it had X51 and adaptive sport seats-maybe...

before I bought my car, I contacted them too...and they will not let you do an inspection before you buy. They say when you buy a car, it has been inspected by them...I would not consider them a qualified inspector.

I also know of an '08 C2S 6MT with only 8,500 miles which has been offered to me for $55K. Original MSRP was $95K. Meteor Grey on Black/Carbon, Sport Chrono + but no PASM or PSE.

Is it worth it??

Yeah, seems about right. The one that was posted yesterday (Carmax) was a 2011 C4S, 9k miles, Sport Chrono, PDK, PSE, in Aqua Blue (seems to carry a premium these days), and it was listed at $67k. I called them as I was bored and curious, and the person I talked to had just booked it for transport, so it was sold. He did say, however, that they went over it with a paint meter and fully inspected it before booking it. The car was spotless and had clear bra on most of the car.

Did someone here grab it? Good Carmax cars move fast. I have seen 4 or 5 interesting ones in the past 3 months, and they always get snapped up within a couple of hours.

Is that a no-haggle price? If so that is strong money for a C4S .2 coupe.

I think Carmax is no-haggle;.

I don't know the market on low-mile .2 C4S cars, as they are pretty rare compared to the C2S. I can say I had a 2009 C4 manual with 36,000 miles in 2017, and the dealer consigned and sold it at $51,900. It was a "base" build aside from the Sharkwerks pipes and Gundo hack; no PASM, no full leather, although it had SC. That is probably a $60k car if it were a C4S, but again, it was a manual, base build at $94k and therefore tough to compare.

I figure that the difference between a late model .2 and a similar mileage and build 991.1 (say 2012-2013) is around $10k typically, give or take a bit. Using those numbers, a 2013 C4S in ABM with full leather and 9,000 miles would likely be priced at least at $75k, probably more like $78k. I have seen 30k mile 991.1 C4S models in the low 70's, but anything with 9,000 miles will be close to $80k.

Here is a manual 991.1 C4S, certified, with around 30k miles at $74,000. Not a bad deal at all, but black tends to be poor for resale, for whatever reason. Over on the 997 GT3 forum, everyone says black cars trade at a $10k discount.

$123,000 Turbo PTS: Ipanema Blue? Not worth the dollars, IMO. as Ipanema is not the best color. There was a 981 Spyder for sale in Colorado in this color (RL'ers car) and the dealership didn't get a dollar extra for the color. Maybe one of this newly rich tech bros in Austin will find it irresistable and shell out asking price

they could have at least spec'd adaptive sport seats

Keep in mind all C2S 997s come standard with PASM.

Oh - I did not know that. I thought PASM was only standard with the 991.1
Is that the 'shock' button?
