Default Tail light LED wiring question

Installed the aftermarket LED tail lights for my 997.1 and love the upgraded look.

However, i think my wiring is messed up. I have taped one connector of the bulb on both the lights. However, here is why I think things are messed up:

When I brake, those pink thingies/bulbs light up on both sides. I would expect the LED's to become stronger.
When I put the rear fog light on, the LED become stronger on the left side.

Does this imply that I should just switch the brake socket with the fog socket? I thought I'd check before ***** nilly making that change.

Thanks

Here is a pic with the new lights. Detailed her and took her to the coast. The new lights made her look 5 years younger (plus my detailing helps too!

I think those are the "Spyder" LED tails made by XTune Power. I have the smoked reds on my 997.1TT. You have the wiring connected improperly. While some of the bulbs clearly only fit in one of the harness connectors, it is easy to mess up the brake lights and rear fogs.

There is a good post either here or on 6speed that describes the wiring for the ROTTEC lights, which also works in this instance. If you can't figure things out after simply swapping things, look for that post.

Tried to put the red fog light bulb into the black socket, but it wouldn't go. Also, the thingie coming out of the light where the fog light does not fit the white socket.

My lights are wired exactly as shown in the below pictures - white on both ends, black, and the orange/brown together (pictures copied from Edgy01 from his post here: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ml#post8967832)

I have done a lot of search, and haven't found 'The' post that has the instructions. Anyone knows - basic problem is that the brake and fog are mixed up?!

ok - I think I know what my problem might be - the two whites need to be changed.

Guess this one is 'The' post that everyone is talking about.

yeah - just fixed it!! That was it, the two whites had to be inter-changed!! Love the lights (more so now when I don't have a pink glow when I brake - lol!!)

Great to hear. It's a bit frustrating monkeying with it but once it is setup, you are gold. I've had my lights since Aug and they have worked great but at some point I'll probably swap for clear red rather than smoke red. My car has too much of a murdered look.

Enjoy!
