decided to sell the GTS
My first porsche, a beautiful 997.2 GTS - I decided to sell and listed it. In the end, this was a dream for me to own this car. A childhood dream since the 80s when i used to drool over 911s. Unfortunately, i have learned I need a bigger car, with a family and all.
I am so thankful for everyone's help and comments here, what a great community. Maybe I will get a cayenne S and be back, who knows.
The 997 is truly a magical sort of car. Wish I owned it when I was younger and more carefree. It might be my only 911 and my last 911, but I am glad i got a taste of ownership. Thanks again to all.

+1 What they said. My first 911 was in 1979, a 1968 911S. Sold it for the same reasons you are...family, house, furniture, etc.... Second 911 was in 2013. Kind of funny that my first one would be worth as much as my current one had I been able to keep it. BTW...interesting, paid $4800 for my 1968 911S!!

Why didn't you just keep it and buy another affordable family car. I know your situation as I have two 9 year olds but I just opted for three cars. Maybe you situation is different but there are ways to keep it. If that's not an option, it's not the end of the world. Do you have a link of the listing?

I sold mine for a business investment opportunity. So I do understand your battle. Family and health come first. An expensive car second.
You maybe back. I will be, I hope...

Not to rub salt in the wound, and maybe since you said "magical" you already know, but this GTS is the best 911 currently available without wings. So if you were to come back, you could get one that's newer and faster, but not really any better. Its the current sweet spot, period.
Oh wait, now I get it! The link is invalid because you realized the tragic error about to befall you and deleted the sale! Well done, sir, well done!

i pulled the sale, since i wasn't getting a lot for the 68k I wanted
I don't want to solicit on a non-classified board like this
Basically it is a nice care, 30k miles, blk/blk gts pdk 2011, no issues, and CPO, just had 30k service
I got low ball offers
I love the car... i just don't drive it much because I have 2 kids
I really need a macan/panamera/cayenne or tesla
It is my dream car, I just don't drive it much, but my kids and family are important and i need a bigger car
AS a first time 911 buyer, i think it is important to realize that the car's limitations are not performance, it is size. You might think that family fits, but it isn't easy. I like the GTS - love it - but hard to keep a car i drove 1800 miles in 10 months

In the meantime while the car is up for sale, why not try taking the car, kids and all, everywhere with almost no exceptions and just seeing if you can enjoy the car if you just put more miles on it? If you can rekindle the love affair, take it off the market! And if you can't manage to get any real pleasure out of that, you'll at least know logically you should have no regrets selling it as you couldn't really enjoy the car. That would give peace of mind, and when the kids are out of the house you could pick one up and enjoy it.
Personally, I have a baby only, commute alone often, and have a moderately high threshold for accepting inconvenience in exchange for fun. We also have an old Honda Element for any time it's just not worth the trouble - it gets about 3k miles a year of use.
