Default Procedure for pdk clutch oil replace?

Pdk service next weekend. Anybody know the general procedure? Our tech savvy brothers? From what I know, drain clutch oil and transmission gear oil overnight. Refill transmission gear oil until oil comes out of fill hole. Connect to piwis to enter fill mode for the clutch oil. Endure specified temperature is reached . Fill clutch oil....
Is this the right method??

What you write sounds right. Without a PIWIS I chickened out and paid a dealer to do it. Good luck, take pictures, and share the experience ... I am sure others want to know, and I'll be due again in another couple years.

Wayne, you had this done recently, do you recall feeling anything different after the oil change? Smoother running, faster gearshifts, stronger acceleration?

I wanted to believe the shift was smoother, but in fact there was no (or very little) actual difference. The biggest improvement was the resultant peace of mind! At 60K my oil looked new and the small filter was perfectly clean. I suspect I could have gone much further before the change. But don't get me wrong ... given the cost of the PDK I will definitely repeat the procedure in a couple of years when I reach 120K.

So Wayne, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the clutch oil change. I have only 15K miles on my C4 cab but it is now 6 years old and plan on doing the maintenance this spring.

Default Clutch Oil change on PDK

Get ready: Porsche dealership charged me $425. That included the 10% discount for PCA membership.

I was in this same ballpark but paid a bit more since I had the early drain plug and we felt it best to replace the pan this time. This incorrect drain plug should be the case only for 2009 and early 2010 cars.

My local dealer had trouble quoting me and prices ranged from $400 to $1600 depending upon the day I asked! I never finished an interview with the SM in which I felt they knew what they were doing. I ended up driving a distance to a different dealer to have the work done.

I just had the PDK clutch oil replaced on my car (6 yrs / 43K miles) and oddly enough, the shifting smoothed out a little, especially the 1-2 shift.

There is a software update that the dealer may install that smooths the shift. Once done, this update cannot be undone. Some like the soft shift, some don't. I specifically requested that the software update not be done. The dealer acknowledged that sans the request, the update would have happened.

I did think the 1 to 2 shift was a bit smoother, but I must admit that this was so minimal that it may have been imagined. It also may have been the car relearning itself since the dealer did a factory handover to remove some old phone numbers that would not delete otherwise.

Hmm, just got my 2009 C2S recently, only 20k miles but I know that suppose to change at 6 years. Trying to decide if I should get it done in the spring or wait a little more. I am 70% daily driving so looking at maybe 5k per year. Any opinions on if should just get it done or push it out another year or so? Thanks.

I would change it at 6 years and that's what I plan on doing as I won't reach 60k miles by then. Low cost for a lot of peace of mind, IMO.
